Omakase on Tustin Street

Ohshima Japanese Cuisine is a small sushi restaurant at 1956 North Tustin Street in Orange, in a strip mall with plenty of parking. It serves traditional sushi only, and a sign says so: there are no American-style rolls.

The Omakase

Most people come for omakase, offered in 7, 10 or 13 pieces. At the bar the chef serves each piece as it is made; at a table the full set arrives together on one plate.

Beyond the omakase there is nigiri by the piece, fish carpaccio, grilled fish collar, shishito peppers with bonito flakes, steamed clams and uni spaghetti, which reviewers order to round out the meal.
